The United States qualified for The Americans will face Italy on Sunday, who eliminated Greece.

The first ticket for the United Cup final was awarded to the United States, and there was not the slightest suspense! The Americans were leading Poland 2-0 on Friday night after wins by Jessica Pegula and Frances Tiafoe, and they sealed the deal by eventually winning 5-0.

It was Taylor Fritz who brought the third point, synonymous with qualification, by beating Hubert Hurkacz in a match between the world No. 9 and No. 10. The winner of the last Indian Wells Masters 1000 won in two tie-breaks and 1h46 of play: 7-5 then 7-5 in a match without a break. Hurkacz, who served 17 aces in this game, missed the mark in the first set where, just after saving two balls at 5-4 on his serve, he missed two set points on his opponent's face-off . Fritz finally won the decisive game with the score 7-5 by signing a single mini-break, at 5-5.

In the second, the Pole got the two break points of the set, at 5-5, but the American saved them and won the tiebreak again 7-5, after leading 3-1 then trailing 5-4. The United States will therefore play in the final of this first edition of the United Cup! Madison Keys then brought Team USA the fourth point by defeating Magda Linette 6-4, 6-2, then mixed doubles Pegula-Fritz beat the Rosolska-Kubot pair 6-7, 6-4, 10-6. A mixed double for which Iga Swiatek forfeited, who suffers from the shoulder and also gave up the Adelaide tournament next week.
